- Every morning we will have a team meeting to discuss health and safety measures so the entire practice is up to speed.
- All patients who are unwell will be rescheduled.
- Unnecessary items will be removed from the waiting room including toys and magazines.
- Cough etiquette and hand hygiene posters will be places throughout the clinic.
- Sufficient time will be left between appointments to allow thorough cleaning of the surgeries and waiting room.
- All surfaces will be regularly disinfected with >60% alcohol-based wipes and 0.1% sodium hypochlorite (bleach) solution.
- All orthodontic assistants have completed the Department of Health Infection Control Training for COVID-19.
- Standard precautions (including hand hygiene) and Transmission-based precautions in particular Contact and Droplet precautions (which includes the use of a gown, surgical mask, goggles, and disposable gloves) will be observed for the routine care of patients.
- All contacts will be kept 'casual' (less than 15 minutes face-to-face contact or sharing a closed space for less than 2 hours) to reduce the risk of possible transmission.
- All aerosolizing procedures will be ceased.
- Physical distancing of 1.5m will be encouraged.
