Invisalign® is the ‘invisible’ way to straighten teeth using a series of clear, lightweight aligners. Invisalign® has a number of key advantages over traditional braces: it’s inconspicuous with no wires or brackets being involved, only thin, virtually invisible plastic aligners; it’s removable, meaning you can take it out to eat, drink, and clean your teeth; and it’s more comfortable, with no abrasion to the lips and cheeks and soreness like with braces.
Invisalign® works by using advanced 3D imaging equipment and software to develop custom made aligners. These are then worn in sequence, usually for 2 weeks each, to gradually move the teeth into position.
There are now different Invisalign® options depending on you age and severity of the case. Invisalign® Comprehensive is used for most cases, whereas Invisalign® Moderate and Lite® are more suitable for minor movements.
